The Difference You Make:

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a CIBAssociate, US Markets Strategy & Business Development to support strategic planning, business development execution, client analytics, and senior management reporting for the US Markets business.

This role partners closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Trading, Business Management, and global teams to help drive growth initiatives across the institutional client franchise. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable producing high-quality materials in a fast-paced markets environment.

Strategy & Business Development

  • Support strategic initiatives across US Markets, including client coverage strategy, wallet sizing, client targeting, competitive intelligence, and growth opportunity analysis.
  • Partner with Sales teams covering institutional clients to identify opportunities, track progress, and support execution of business development priorities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across regions to help deliver key initiatives/projects for the business.

Analytics, Reporting & Dashboards

  • Build and maintain business development dashboards and KPIs, including P&L, financial results/projections, client activity, pipeline, and market trend analysis.
  • Maintain and enhance internal databases, trackers, and reporting tools for client activity, pipeline management, and performance metrics.
  • Improve reporting efficiency through Excel automation, templates, and repeatable processes.

Executive & Client Materials

  • Produce high-quality PowerPoint presentations for senior management, including strategy readouts, business development reviews, client meeting preparation, performance reporting, and quarterly / annual planning materials.
  • Create polished internal and client-facing content, including talking points, one-pagers, market snapshots, and competitive summaries.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, summarize market developments, draft materials, and improve day-to-day workflow efficiency.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as an analyst or associate in Global Markets, Strategy, Business Development, Business Management, or Management Consulting.


Qualifications:

  • Required Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups, scenario analysis, and clean data structuring. VBA experience is a plus.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, including executive storylining, charting, formatting, and strong slide design discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, diligent, goal oriented and forward-thinking approach to execution.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Markets products across asset classes is highly valued.
  • Understanding risk concepts and capital rules is a plus.
  • Experience building BI-style dashboards or automated reporting tools.
  • Fluency with AI tools for productivity, research, analysis, and workflow improvement.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, and deal pipeline management.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range:

Minimum:

$145,000.00 USD

Maximum:

$190,000.00 USD
