The Difference You Make:
The Technical Project Management Lead is responsible for various methods and practices around provisioning IT into the business, improving the overall Project Portfolio Management (PPM) maturity across the organization, and tracking and reporting the conformance to plans and expectations of IT-oriented initiatives. As an arm of the overall IT governance function, the Director is responsible for supporting and enabling the organization's projects, programs and structured work efforts. They ensure that the work of the PMO adds value, is relevant to the strategy of IT, and meets the goals set for the PMO by IT leadership.
The incumbent identifies and drives simplification and groundbreaking strategies supporting IT processes and service model as well as plans, organizes and leads a very complex set of multi-year technology-based initiatives. They work closely with business partners, development managers and firm-wide Program Management teams to handle overall program work plans and the more detailed portfolio of related technology initiatives. The Director, Technical Project Management has the demonstrated experience in running large, complex technology initiatives in the asset management industry. Must have bi-lingual Spanish/English skills.
- Maintains the IT portfolio of work with current, planned, and potential programs and projects as well as ongoing support requirements.
- Facilitates among the PMO stakeholders and organizational leadership a consensus around the mission and vision of the PMO organization to foster a project-management-oriented culture and mindset.
- Engages senior leadership and business partners to define the PMO mission, goals and operating model, and releases this after senior management approval, in the form of the PMO charter.
- Leads the identification and development of PMO roles, team configuration and recruitment appropriate to deliver the agreed-upon PMO goals and objectives.
- Leads the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful projec
- Facilitates the agreed-upon process that develops plans and prioritization by leadership and governance.
- Defines, manages and directs the needed end-to-end PMO work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases.
- Provides ongoing coaching and mentoring to PMO staff and project managers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with senior leadership and key PMO stakeholders, and acts as a trusted advisor.
- Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve the project management best practices in order to achieve higher maturity in PPM.
- Reports on the IT project portfolio and identifies variances in project performance.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required
- Master's Degree: in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Preferred
Qualifications:
- 12+ Years Overall knowledge of software development concepts, preferably in a financial services setting. - Required.
- 9+ Years Experience implementing technology solutions that demonstrate iterative, agile and traditional software development lifecycle approaches. - Preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management within bank compliance, governance, and other teams.
- Strategic planning, idea generation, experience in optimizing technology processes and driving innovation solutions.
- Strong collaborative skills. Ability to work effectively among peers and across the organization, with a high level of integrity and grace under pressure.
- A problem-solving, strategic mindset.
- Proven ability to work at all levels of organization and prepare materials for executive review.
- Solid understanding of data flow and movement, and coordination of point-to-point workflows.
- Ability to show clear evidence of technical project management experience within a complex and changing/growing technology environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a highly customer-focused service environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings. Including with executive teams.
- Operational risk focus, including building and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while executing on high impact change initiatives.
- Hands on orientation, with the willingness and ability to perform detailed tasks.
- Ability to vision, design, plan and orchestrate complex technology-based initiatives.
- Demonstrated strong initiative-taking, leadership and influencing skills.
- Must have bi-lingual Spanish/English skills.
Certifications:
- PMP: Project Management Professional - Preferred.
- CSM: Scrum Master certification - Preferred.

What Else You Need To Know:
The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
