Sr. Specialist, Product Management

Role Summary

The Senior Specialist will support the Head of Products in the selection, review, governance, and ongoing monitoring of investment products across SSLLC's platform.

The role will focus on maintaining a well-governed product offering across both brokerage and advisory channels, including mutual funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income, structured products, alternatives, SMAs, UMAs, model portfolios, and other investment solutions. The role will also support the Managed Account Platforms function from a product selection and due diligence perspective, without owning day-to-day managed account platform administration.

This position is intended for a candidate with broad investment product knowledge, strong governance discipline, and the ability to coordinate effectively across Product, Investments, Managed Account Platforms, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Product Selection & Review

  • Support the evaluation, selection, and ongoing review of investment products across brokerage and advisory channels.
  • Assist with product due diligence, including review of performance, risk, fees, liquidity, structure, investment process, and client use case.
  • Leverage internal analysis and/or third-party research, due diligence, and analytics where applicable.
  • Prepare materials and recommendations for product approval, retention, watchlist placement, or removal.
  • Help identify product gaps, overlaps, and opportunities within the approved product platform.

Product Governance

  • Support maintenance of the approved product platform, product library, and related governance records.
  • Prepare materials for product review committees and other internal governance forums.
  • Document product approval rationale, due diligence conclusions, and ongoing monitoring outcomes.
  • Track product restrictions, eligibility criteria, platform availability, and advisor guidance.
  • Support periodic product reviews, platform rationalization, and product lifecycle management.

Brokerage & Advisory Platform Support

  • Support product reviews across brokerage products, including mutual funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income, structured products, and alternatives.
  • Support advisory product reviews, including SMA managers, UMA sleeves, model portfolios, and related strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Managed Account Platforms function on manager reviews, platform eligibility, and governance requirements.
  • Help ensure selected products and strategies can be supported operationally across relevant platforms and custody arrangements.

Regulatory, Risk & Compliance Coordination

  • Support product governance processes consistent with applicable U.S. broker-dealer and advisory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Supervision on product reviews, disclosures, restrictions, and controls.
  • Assist with internal audits, regulatory exams, remediation items, and documentation requests related to product governance.
  • Maintain complete and organized records of product reviews, approvals, and monitoring activities.

Reporting & Business Support

  • Prepare recurring reports and dashboards on product usage, flows, platform activity, and governance items.
  • Support Financial Advisors and internal stakeholders with product-related inquiries and approved product guidance.
  • Assist in preparing product guides, comparison materials, training content, and platform communications.
  • Support both wealth and legacy retail business needs across brokerage and advisory channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in investment products, wealth management, advisory platforms, broker-dealer platforms, or related financial services roles.
  • Broad familiarity with investment products, including mutual funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income, structured products, alternatives, SMAs, UMAs, and model portfolios.
  • Experience supporting product selection, due diligence, investment research, product governance, or platform management preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. broker-dealer and advisory regulatory concepts, including suitability, Reg BI, fiduciary considerations, and conflicts of interest preferred.
  • Ability to review and synthesize internal analysis, third-party research, due diligence materials, and product data.
  • Experience working across multiple platforms, custodians, or operational environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and investment research or analytics tools preferred.

Licensing Requirements

  • FINRA Series 7 preferred at hire or required to be obtained within a defined period after hire.
  • Series 63, 65, or 66 preferred or required to be obtained within a defined period after hire, depending on role scope and firm requirements.
  • Additional licenses may be required based on responsibilities, advisor interaction, or firm policy.

  • Ability to compare products across structure, cost, performance, risk, liquidity, and client use case.
  • Comfort working across both traditional and complex products.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Product, Investments, Managed Account Platforms, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Distribution.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clear governance documentation.
  • Practical understanding of how products are used in both brokerage and advisory relationships.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range:

Minimum:

$56,250.00 USD

Maximum:

$95,000.00 USD
