The Difference You Make:
The Santander Securities LLC Risk Director oversees the development and adaptation of the target operating model and risk governance, ensuring business unit risk management accountability, implementation and maintenance of a robust risk process and consistent risk governance structure across the designated business. S/he leads the risk management and related risk analytical activities and ensures that risk-taking is well-controlled and undertaken according to the parameters articulated in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, and executes risk policies and the Risk Tolerance Statements. The incumbent oversees teams of risk officers to: Identify, assess, measure, monitor, aggregate and report on risks. The Risk director will have a hierarchical reporting line to the SSLLC CEO and a functional reporting line to the US Wealth

Chief Risk Officer.

S/his main responsibilities include:
•    Oversee the development and adaptation of the target operating model and risk governance, ensuring business unit risk management accountability, implementation and maintenance of a robust risk process and consistent risk governance structure.
•    Develops, reviews and revises risk policies or material changes to those policies, procedures and practices within the business units prior to their final implementation.
•    Effectively delegates ownership of the respective Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks for each respective risk function, the associated risk management policies, standards and associated procedures.
•    Escalates risk issues to the related risk committees, the Risk Forum, the Business Forum, and when appropriate, the Board of Directors, as necessary.
•    Chair the New Products and Business Activities Forum.
•    Attend and provide challenge at the SSLLC Business Forum, Conflicts and Fiduciary Risk Forum and Client Review Forum, as well as CUSO committees.
•    Maintain strong and stable second line oversight over SSLLC, providing independent challenge and risk perspective.
•    Ensures adequate, effective and efficient management of risk exposures within the agreed risk tolerances recommended by Management and approved by the Board or by the Combined US Operations (“CUSO”).
•    Meets regulatory expectations to the extent applicable, with special focus on SEC and FINRA regulatory requirements.
•    Coordinates risk with strategic planning activities to ensure organizational consistency with risk related requirements including applicable laws and regulation.
•    Support the development of the business through identifying and assessing risks in new products, initiatives and business strategy.
•    Ensures that Risk Management adequately supports adherence to all regulatory requirements and ensures their integration into risk and business processes.
•    Perform and/or oversee tasks related to the Enterprise Risk Management function (Material Risk Program, Risk Appetite, Risk aggregation and reporting, review materials for SSLLC Risk Forum, CUSO ERMC and risk-related matters for the SSLLC Board of Directors, monitoring KRI’s, etc.). 
•    Sponsors and/or monitors strategic projects and programs related to risk management.
•    Continue to enhance and refine the SSLLC Risk Framework and programs ensuring adequate coverage of key risk areas and ongoing adoption/maturation of CUSO risk policies, standards and programs.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range:

Minimum:

$116,250.00 USD

Maximum:

$220,000.00 USD
