Duties: Lead the data science and advanced analytics strategy and delivery portfolio, including oversight of the design, deployment, and enhancement of predictive and behavioral models to address critical business issues, improve automation and efficiencies, and support key business strategies and initiatives, performing these specific duties: Set and drive the data science roadmap and execution plan in partnership with strategic and functional analytics stakeholders; translate business priorities into an actionable analytics portfolio and delivery roadmap. Lead development of advanced analytic models and solutions (e.g., optimization, forecasting, multivariate regression, time series) and ensure methodological rigor and measurable impact. Partner with senior business leaders to understand business problems, shape analytic requirements, and influence data-driven decisions through clear recommendations and storytelling. Oversee end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions into production, collaborating with technology teams to integrate data collection, data quality controls, and model outputs into operational systems. Design and evangelize iterative experimentation processes (test-and-learn culture), including rapid prototyping standards and cross-team data/model reuse. Establish and maintain data integrity, security, and governance practices for analytical datasets and model outputs; ensure appropriate controls and standards are followed. Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of data scientists and managers; establish shared best practices and standards; and develop talent through coaching and performance management. Support a long-term research/innovation agenda to address critical business needs and technical challenges; evaluate new methods and tools and incorporate them where appropriate.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Quantitative Finance, plus 2 years of experience in the position offered or in another data science role in a global bank or financial institution. All required experience must have included: performing statistical analysis and measurement using mathematical and statistical tools and techniques, including causal inference methods (e.g., experimental design, difference-in-differences, matching, and panel/time-series regression); writing, designing, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and maintaining source code and computer programs in R and Python (and SQL for data querying) and running this code in production (container services and API creation); developing algorithms for advanced analytics and experimental measurement using AI, ML, statistics and software engineering for rapid prototyping and productions systems; working with large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets (in tens to hundreds of millions of records) to derive insights; and designing, developing, and deploying predictive or behavioral models for business purposes such as customer propensity/response, churn/retention, customer experience, fraud risk, forecasting, and marketing or branch network optimization.
Details: Full-time. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our Boston, MA office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
