Duties:  Develop and propose debt alternatives for Santander clients in Central America and the Caribbean and expanding the coverage into Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia and Ecuador. Establish a client perimeter and a new framework to onboard corporates clients in Central America and the Caribbean. Execute multilateral financing transactions with sovereign governments with focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) financings or transactions related to ESG key performance indicators. Supervise capital markets and structured bonds and loans transactions, including managing documentation review, due diligence, and bond placement. Originate project bonds and export and agency financings that enable infrastructure development in the region. Work closely with M&A teams and originate acquisition financing opportunities in Central America and the Caribbean.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s in Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering (any field), plus five years of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience in position offered as Global Debt Financing or Corporate Finance Associate or DCM Vice President at an international corporate and investment bank. Two years of the required experience must have included originating and executing debt financing transactions, including debt capital markets, multilateral structured financing alternatives such as AB bonds structures and partial guarantees, and bilateral and structured loans in several currencies, with Sovereigns, banks, and corporates in Central America and the Caribbean region; working on internationalization of domestic debt such as Global bonds, multilateral financings, International Global Depository Notes (GDNs) and Euroclear transactions; pitching, originating, and structuring ESG and sustainable financing transactions, including sustainability linked structures, debt-for-nature swaps and combined bond and loan financings; and using market research, financial modeling, valuation calculations, and knowledge of Basel III/IV, IFRS/GAAP accounting and relevant local regulatory frameworks to develop novel financing strategies and implement such new initiatives. FINRA licenses (SIE, Series 79 or 79TO, and Series 63 exams) required.

Details:  Full-time. Position requires approximately 20% international travel and only incidental domestic travel. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York, NY office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
